Garden adventures

This year we have decided to try our hand at organic gardening. We thought it would be so exciting to grow our own food and important for our kids. I've used this as a learning experience for the oldest baby.

Last year we started our own compost. Its been so much easier than we would've imagined and so satisfying. As a family of 5 we only go through one trash bag a week because most of what we use is recyclable or compostable.

So far we have had 3 raspberries and 2 blueberries. They taste so much different than store brought fruit. I'm loving our little home garden. We will have a large harvest of berries soon as there are so many unripe berries growing.

We are also growing a few other plants. So far we have our cucumbers, peas and carrots in the ground and tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, pumpkins and watermelons in starter pots. I will be sharing more on our gardening expedition.
